![]() This big battle, staged mainly in Bastogne around Christmastime in 1944, was Germany's last line of defense. The Allies victory enabled them to march into Germany and finish the war in the European Theater. When this key battle in World War II was over, 80,000 Americans were killed or wounded and over 100,000 Germans suffered likewise casualties. This was presented in the same fashion, using live actors, computerized special-effects, a narrator and interviews with military experts. The other two shows were ancient history, involving Alexander The Great and Napoleon. Of the three shows that were made for this program, this particular battle is probably the most known of the three because there are people still alive today and went through it.
